CCTV Exposes Husband in Migori Murder Cover-Up. “They Thought No One Was Watching…”:

What began as a normal evening ended in a chilling trail of violence, deception, and a desperate attempt to cover up a murder—one that was ultimately exposed by surveillance cameras.

Detectives in Migori County are now holding six suspects, including the husband of Davine Kwamboka, a 30-year-old mother of two whose final moments were captured on CCTV in a case that has shocked the nation.

The Final Moments

CCTV footage shows Davine walking into her house accompanied by her husband and another man—seemingly unaware that it would be the last time she would be seen alive.

Moments later, the three disappear inside the house.

What followed behind closed doors would later be confirmed through an autopsy: Davine died from severe head injuries caused by blunt force trauma.

The Cover-Up Begins

Shortly after entering the house, the man who had accompanied the couple is seen leaving, only to return moments later—this time appearing to coordinate something on a phone call.

Then, the scene takes a darker turn.

A boda boda rider arrives.

CCTV cameras capture a disturbing sequence—Davine’s lifeless body being dragged across the floor by the suspects as they attempt to move her out of the house.

At one point, her husband is seen struggling alone, pulling her body towards a waiting motorcycle.

A Desperate Escape

The suspects attempt to make it appear as though Davine is still alive—trying to sit her on the motorcycle as her body slumps lifelessly.

Another man joins in.

After several failed attempts, they finally manage to place her on the bike.

Her husband and the rider then speed off into the night—carrying what investigators believe was already a lifeless body.

A Story That Didn’t Add Up

But the plan quickly began to unravel.

Police later arrested Davine’s husband, Johnson Nyandigisi Bukundo, alongside a taxi driver near the Isebania border.

According to investigators, the husband claimed that Davine had died after taking poison—an explanation now believed to have been an attempt to conceal the murder.

Family Demands Answers

Davine’s family has strongly rejected the narrative, pointing to glaring inconsistencies.

“How does my sister walk into the house with two people, and within minutes we are told she took poison and died? We want the truth and justice,” said her relative, Richard Nyahega.

Her colleagues also revealed that tensions had escalated earlier in the day.

One witness described how the husband, allegedly intoxicated, confronted Davine at her workplace, leading to a heated argument before the two left together.

“We later heard she had been carried on a motorcycle… her head was leaning—like she was not okay. When we got there, she was already dead,” said her friend, Doto Dida.

Arrests and Ongoing Investigations

So far, six suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder as detectives piece together what appears to be a coordinated attempt to conceal the crime.

Davine’s body has been preserved at the Migori District Mortuary as investigations continue.

When Cameras Speak the Truth

This case has once again highlighted the critical role of surveillance technology in uncovering crime.

Without CCTV footage, investigators say, the truth behind Davine’s death may have remained hidden.
